MICHELLE MOLDOFSKY is the former General Counsel at St. Michael’s Hospital. She has over 15 years experience working in the hospital sector in progressive in-house roles. Her experience includes providing enterprise-wide legal counsel, developing proactive policies and embedding best practices for leading Canadian healthcare and research institutions to support stakeholders, mitigate risk and deliver outstanding care. She has successfully transformed legal departments with a commitment to standardizing and streamlining processes as well as increasing value. She has developed policies and procedures which embedded current best practices, and mitigated risk, for 2 large urban hospitals. She received her LLM in health law from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, her law degree from Queen’s University, and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Michelle is one of the founding members of the General Counsel Group of the Women’s Law Association of Ontario. She is committed to training and mentoring new lawyers. She created a student program within the Legal Department of St. Michael’s Hospital. She is a member of the Corporate Counsel Advisory Committee of the Law Practice Program, acts as an Executive-in-Residence for the Business Leadership Program for In-House Counsel that is co-led by the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association and the Rotman School of Management, and she has spent several years acting as a mentor in the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association’s mentorship program.
