Ryerson’s Law Practice Program (LPP) is the first of its kind in Ontario. Equivalent to articling the LPP is an innovative, rigorous and demanding eight-month program combining on-line training and experiential learning with a hands-on work term. Ryerson works with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO) and the legal community, including a strategic alliance with the Ontario Bar Association, to deliver a dynamic program that prepares Law School graduates to succeed in their legal practice and careers.
In just 5 years over 1100 law school graduates have successfully completed the LPP.
Early indications are that LPP Candidates, once called, are meeting with excellent employment success:
- 90% of Year III, once Called, were working in law or law-related positions one year post-LPP (plus 5% are otherwise employed)
- 84% of Year II, once Called, were working in law or law-related positions one year post-LPP (plus 3% are otherwise employed)
- 75% of Year I, once Called, were working in law or law-related positions one year post-LPP (plus 5% are otherwise employed)
